Hi.

Iโ€™m Camilla, a qualified trainer completing an MSc in clinical animal behaviour and founder of Forest & Field Dogs. I launched this business with the desire to design dog walks differently! I wanted to offer an adventure that provided not only physical exercise but brain training too. Content and confident dogs are those that experience enrichment, learning and fun on a daily basis. We do that!

Adventure Hikes.

No ordinary dog walk! We travel deep into woodlands, nature reserves and country parks found within the expanses of outer London (think Chislehurst, Sidcup, Addington). Here we spend an hour and a half practicing doggy parkour and trick training, playing with our friends and engaging in scent games. This is enrichment for your dog to the max!

Pick ups 1st walk: 9.15 - 10am. Drop offs 1st walk and pick ups 2nd walk: 12.30 - 1.30pm. Drop offs 2nd walk: 3.30 - 4.30pm. *Please bear in mind these are all approximate. Factors outside of my control affect my timings throughout the day.

Having completed my accredited training with the Dog Training College to become a qualified dog trainer. I am now working on my masters degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour with the University of Edinburgh.

How It Works.

1) Meet & Greet.

Done in a local park to you, this ensures weโ€™re the right fit for one another. You get to ask me as many questions as you like and we go over recall, any likes and dislikes, as well as your dogโ€™s sociability. Here we are ensuring your dog will be as happy as possible with my pack and that you are happy with me! Your confidence in me, and your dogโ€™s well-being are paramount.

2) Trial Walk.

If the meet and greet is a success we move on to a trial walk. I run two Adventure Hikes a day, an am and pm. Drop-offs from the first walk and pick-ups for the second run over midday so that each dogโ€™s day is broken up in the middle. I choose who goes in each walk depending on who is walking that day. This trial walk allows me to see whether your little guy is a good fit with the dogs I already walk, and if so, who the best matches will be.

3) Pack Member.

Congratulations you made it to regular pack member! Iโ€™ll be taking your little one into beautiful countryside for an hour and a half to explore, learn and play. My goal when walking your dog is to ensure he experiences as many enriching activities as possible. This could include swimming, climbing, โ€˜parkour,โ€™ as well as a plethora of treat based games. To become an Adventure Hiker I require at least 1 regular walk a week. If there is space you can of course add extra days if and when you need them.

Why Forest & Field Dogs.

Safety First.

Your dogs safety and well-being are my priorities. There are a few ways I keep your dogs as safe as possible:

  • I only take small and medium dogs to ensure play is balanced.

  • Numbers are limited to small pack sizes per walk. This allows each dog freedom to explore and play safely with my full attention, but ensures you always have dog care when you need it.

  • ๏ปฟAll restraints in the vehicle are crash tested. These are TransK9 crates and CarSafe harnesses.

  • Although good recall is a prerequisite to join my Adventure Hikes, I use Pawfit trackers with live GPS location monitering.

  • ๏ปฟI am a qualified dog trainer, canine first aid trained, fully insured, licensed, DBS checked and currently completing an Msc in clinical animal behaviour.

Clean & Green.

I believe nutrition plays a huge role in a happy and healthy dog. Since I use only positive reinforcement methods, treats are one of the main tools in my toolkit! My treat bag is filled with grain free kibble from Pooch and Mutt, sprats, chicken and sweet potato bones with no nasties, and 100% dried cow liver broken down by a hammer and my own fair hands! Feel content knowing whatโ€™s going inside your pup is as enriching as whatโ€™s going on outside.

The planet is just as important as our dogs which is why I only use fully compostable poo bags and wipes, neither of which contain any microplastics. I source all my treats from UK based manufacturers to keep my carbon footprint down, and am working towards a 100% electric vehicle.

No Ordinary Dog Walk.

I am passionate about what I do. As a qualified trainer, and a training behaviourist I believe I have honed in on whatโ€™s best for your dog; a walk that offers both physical and mental stimulation. Simply put, this is known as enrichment and is essential for a content dog. It is the cornerstone of my walks.

I ensure my walks are as stimulating as possible by sourcing new walking locations regularly with many different terrains (there are currently 12 different woodlands on rotation.) Whilst on our walks we learn new tricks and practice essential training exercises. I incorporate elements of parkour; think agility with tree trunks! Plus I even add games from my scent work training. Yes walks round local parks are OK, but this is better! Treat your best friend to adventure and games with their friends. If youโ€™ve yet to be convinced, why donโ€™t you see below what my happy clients have to say.
